We had a wonderful Mission Trip to Guatemala from December 7th - Dec 16, 2022. We have a lot of stories to tell. We have met many people and shared about Jesus Christ's Death, burial, resurrection & the Holy Spirit. We shared John 3:16-17.
We distributed used glasses, used hearing aids, walking canes, and other items to those in need. Please watch this video:
We partnered with Dr. Patty Castelano, an ENT doctor. She graciously accepted the used hearing aids everyone gave us, and encouraged us to keep collecting them. She is willing to go up to the Mountain areas with us to provide testing to poor people. She has a private practice as well as a foundation to provide hearing aids to the poor.
We partnered with Charlie from Visualiza Eye Clinic and Surgery Center was very happy to receive used glasses and hearing aids. Visualiza is a private practice. The owners, three brothers, also have a foundation to provide eye, hearing, dental and diabetic services to poor individuals at very little cost or no cost at all depending on their income.
Ophelia is very very happy for these eyeglasses.
We also partnered with a dentist, Dr. Lucerna (Lucky), she will be providing services for five of the brothers and sisters from the first church we helped to build in Emanuel, Comunidad Agraria, Nuevo Progreso, San Marcos.
We met with Pastor Raul and members of his congregation in Nuevo San Luis, Nuevo Progreso, San Marcos. We gave seed money to Pastor Raul's treasurer to help buy materials to start building the new church. We asked them to get two more bids. As of yesterday, January 13, 2023, we received two bids. We will review those bids and have a conference call with the brothers at the church to decide the better of the two.
We met with Pastor Luis (black shirt) from Abraham House/Homeless shelter for men. Pastor Luis is also the manager of Abraham House.
He humbly accepted the medicine and walking canes from us. We gave him money to buy food for Christmas dinner for everyone. It was a joy to give one of the walking canes directly to Vladimir, he is a blind. He received with joy as well.
Our ministry is possible because of caring, compassionate people like you all. Many people are happy because of your gifts. We thank our Lord Jesus for everyone who provided used glasses, used hearing aids, walking canes, prayers, and monetary gifts to help us go out and share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Our Lord Jesus Christ is good to us. He opened many doors for us and kept us in His care.
While on vacation in Mexico December 17, 2022, we also shared our testimony and the Good News of Jesus Christ with many people as well. We visited two churches as well. Bought dinner for a small church congregation. Philippians 2 "3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interest but each of you to the interest of others." Thanks again. God bless you all. Lita and Nan

She is willing to go to the remote areas with us to provide hearing tests, and refer patients to nearby ENT or audiologists or bringing patients to her own practice. She has trained many audiologists in different areas.
The morning ofDec. 9th, 2022, we met the team at Visualiza Eye Clinic & Surgery Center in Guatemala City, private practice. Visualizahas an outreach program for the poor of which Charlie (in glasses) is the out reach coordinator. They provide eye care, audiology service, dental care, & diabetic treatment to the poor at a very low cost and some times at no cost depending on their income. They were very happy to receive the used eye glasses and hearing aids.
After we visted Vizualiza Clinic, we left for Abrham’s House Homeless Shelter. Neto, our driver and liaison, Sophia and her friend Sophia, our translators kept joking that we were on an adventure.
We met Pastor Luis, he is 70-years-old. He has been volunteering at the shelter for over 8 years. Abraham House is for men only. It is about 45 minutes from Guatemala City. We met about 25 men from ages twenty-five to sixties. Pastor is a great example of a servant of Jesus Christ. We watched him take off the bandage from the wound of one of the men, cleaned the wound and re-bandaged it. Not many people support pastor and his flock. They are making plans to start a vegetable garden soon. Currently, pastor and the men makes sanitary solution to be sustainable. The men gets into an old vehicle and drive to the garbage dump site to pick up one gallon bottles. They washed the bottles and fill it with the solution, then go out to the neighborhood and sell them. They also sell donated clothes to help make ends meet. Our ministry, Children’s Circle mission, gave pastor three walking canes, some medicine and money to buy food for Christmas dinner for everyone. On our way back to our Airbnb that Friday afternoon the tire fell off the car we were traveling in. It rolled from one lane to the next and then back to the lane of our vehicle during rush hour. Praise God! at that moment no other vehicles were beside ours. Our interpreters Sophia and Sophia, we’re trying to get an Uber to get us to the nearest mall, then her mother Brenda will get us from there and take us to our Airbnb. The girls could not figure out the location where we were and as such could not get an Uber.I took my phone which barely had power and was able to get an Uber after we spent two hours on the road. Then off we went to the mall to wait for Sophia’s mom Brenda. Neto stayed with the car, waiting fortowing truck. It was an adventure alright!
Brenda met my husband and I, her daughter Sophia and Sophia’s friend Sophia at the mall. We had barely enough time to buy dinner, thank God. Ten minutes after we got our food all the restaurants closed. On our way back to our Airbnb, we had a very interesting conversation with Brenda. The girls were translating for us. Brenda invited us to spend a few night at her home. Brenda and her daughters, Mafy and Sophia are very mission minded, they really love our ministry. We have a lot in common. We visited Iglesia Ebeneser in Emanuel, Comunidad Agraria, Nuevo Progresso, San Marcos. This is the first church our ministry helped built. We provided Christmas dinner for everyone and gave them medicine, clothes, a walking cane and used eye glasses. Many were very happy to receive eye glasses, they said they could see much better.
We visited pastor Raul and his congregation at his church - Jehová es mi luz y salvación- CEGIC church in Nuevo San Luis, Nuevo Progreso in San Marcos. We met the brothers snd sisters of the church. They are in need of a new church building. After much discussion and we reviewed their building plans, my husband and I agreed to give them seed money to buy materials to build. Wd asked that they get three bids on materials and labor. We encouraged some if the members to donate their time to help with construction. They were delighted that our ministry is willing to help with their church building.
We met Lucerina, she is a dentist and her husband is a medical doctor. They attend CEGIC church. She will provide dental service for five people from one of the other church we helped build. We, at CCM, thank everyone who donated to our ministry. We had the greatest opportunity to tell everyone we met that God in the name of Jesus Christ is the true living God. He is our Salvation and provider. We shared our stories, how we came to know Jesus Christ as our Savior and God called us on this mission. This is possible because of all of you- loving caring, compassion people. God bless you all. Lita & Nan

Missions Trip to Guatemala March 2021 Igelisa Eveneser, Immanuel, Nuevo Progreso, San Marcos:
We were invited by pastor Averlardo to celebrate the opening of the newly built church: -Igelisa Eveneser, located in Immanuel, Nuevo Progreso, San Marcos, Guatemala on March 6, 2021. Our ministry provided the seed money in December 2018 to start the construction. (The old church was sliding off the ground due to an earthquake). It’s a beautiful church, decorated inside with blue drapes and ceramic tiles. There are no pews in the church, they set up chairs for their 60/70 congregation.
The old church falling off its foundation.
We asked pastor Everlardo to invite many people from the neighborhood for the opening ceremony and to feed them. CCM provided the money to buy food for everyone. The ladies from the church prepared chicken, rice, beans and tamales. Soft drinks and water were also served. The food was delicious, everyone was filled and happy. There was extra food for the congregation to take home. The ceremony went well, many people attended, praise be to God our Father! On this trip our ministry, CCM provided the church with a water filter system. We donated clothes, toys, one wheel chair for the pastor’s brother and over-the-counter medicines. The church is seeking funds to build the front door portico, pave the entrance to the church and build restrooms. Again, CCM left the team with some funds and will wire some more funds later this month, April, 2021 to help complete the project
The Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, in Ayampuc, San Marcos:
We left San Marcos on March 8, 2021, to go back to Guatemala City. The next day we met Leslie and Marina who coordinated our trip to the wholesale district to buy food and slippers for the congregation at pastor Rutilia’s church, the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, in Ayampuc, San Marcos. It’s a very poor neighborhood, which is about an hour away from Guatemala City. We took the supplies over to Leslie’s house where the women from the congregation gathered to make 100 bags with food- one weeks staples which Pastor Rutilia and Lita handed out that following Sunday and fed all the people who attended. Many came to hear the word and joyfully accepted the food supplies and a meal that Sunday, March 14, 2021. CCM also provided a water filter system as well as money to the church to buy a small piano, speakers and to replace the leaky zinc on the roof. Oh wow! we were blessed to meet everyone.
45 year-old Letty lost vision in one eye and has poor vision in the other eye. She is not a regular at the church but always helps out when needed. I asked pastor Rutilia to encourage her to go to church and to let her know God will provide for the funds for her to have surgery to correct her vision. CCM’s liaison, Mr. Osman has already taken Letty to the Ophthalmologist three times and scheduled her surgery for April 14, 2021. CCM will be paying for her medical and travel expenses.
On Wednesday April 7, 2021, Pastor Rutilia sent me, Lita, a picture of 41-year-old Diego, a diabetic. She said “He has been losing his sight due to cataract. He has been put on the waiting list for a long time at the public hospital and has not been operated on yet, given all that time he reached the extreme of not being able to see anything and as a pastor I am interceding for this church member” CCM’s Liaison, Osman ,will be taking Diego to the Ophthalmologist ASAP. If surgery is needed, CCM will be paying for Diego’s surgery as well.
Children’s Circle Mission Guatemala Missions Trip 12/2018
Pastor José Vasquez from Grand Rapids MI, who is a native of Guatemala, mentioned the need for a new church building in his village in Guatemala.
Our mission is to help the elders rebuild their church which was sinking due to the earthquake. Children’s Circle Mission (CCM) also planned to spend time with the children from the church and their families. We would share with them the gospel, gifts and a meal for Christmas 2018 and if it is the Lord’s will, find a child or two who may need corrective medical care in the USA.
On December 17, 2018, my husband Nancumar, Pastor José and I flew to Guatemala. It was CCM’s first trip to Central America. We arrived at La Aurora Airport in Guatemala around 2:00 p.m. that day then headed to the Euro Hostel to spend the night.
The next day, our driver and an elder from the church loaded our luggage into and on top of his vehicle and journeyed from Guatemala City to a small village, Comunidad Agraria “Emanuel” Nuevo Progreso, San Marcos Guatemala. We were on the road for 8 hours though the distance was 200 miles.
Dec. 19, 2019, sister Dorcas and brother Mike had a church service at their house. Despite the heavy rain many people with young children attended.
The next day, the ladies from the church gathered firewood to cook lunch and dinner. At Midday, a few men set up a temporary water pipe close to the cooking area so the ladies can wash the vegetables and meat and prepare the meals.
While the ladies were busy preparing food, a few of the elders showed us the blueprint/plans for the new church building. The estimated cost is $43,000 US dollars, for an open floor plan, seating 180 people. Their dream and goal is to complete the building in four to five months but they do not have the funds needed to do so. They have 3,000 Quetzal = $400.00 US dollars. CCM agreed to donate $5,000. They were all excited and started clapping.
In the afternoon, the children and their parents came to listen to Pastor José’s sermon. I shared the verse John 3:16 and we handed out Spanish Keys for Kids devotionals and solar-powered Bibles with 365 days of devotionals. We also handed out shoes, socks, toys, and first aid supplies, etc. donated by GE aviation. It was heartwarming to see the smiles on the faces of the children and their families as they headed for the table with the gifts.
We met two children in need of medical care. A five-year-old who needs long-term care and a 12-year-old girl who has arthrogryposis, she gets around on her hands and knees. Her mother is blind. My husband and I played frisbee and soccer with the children, they were happy to have us play with them.
We thanked our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the opportunity to meet such loving, hard-working people who appreciated the gifts, the Gospel and the monetary support for their church building. Our trip was possible because of the loving, caring, compassionate people who supported the Children’s Circle Mission through prayers and financial gifts. We pray that together we can help the elders with more finances to complete their building.
Proverbs 3:27 “Do not withhold good from those who deserve it, when it is in your power to act.” God bless. Click below to download this report as a PDF to share.
